Pascal Oudet

WOOD SCULPTURE
Pascal Oudet is a woodturner based near Grenoble, France. His pieces are inspired by the effect of the wear and tear of time, which reveals the deep structure of natural materials. From carefully chosen oak trees, he creates forms with great precision, whose structure he then reveals through sandblasting. This technique that he invented has attracted the interest of collectors and galleries worldwide. His pieces can be found in the permanent collections of the Ateliers d'Art de France, the American Association of Woodturners and the New York Museum of Art and Design, as well as in private collections in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the United States.

Expertise         |

From carefully selected oaks, Pascal creates forms with great precision, whose structures he then reveals through sandblasting. In a constant balance between aggressiveness to wear down the material and gentleness to preserve its integrity, he goes as far as transparency to reveal a kind of wooden fabric. His creations, combining technical mastery and sophistication, plunge us into the history of trees in a subtle game between material and light.
