L’HÔTEL DE PARIS

The story

Inaugurated in 1931, the Hotel de Paris Saint-Tropez became a meeting place for artists who came here to find inspiration. Dunoyer de Segonzac lived there year-round, Mistinguett and Clark Gable had their favorites there, and Louis Lions’ Grand Marnier soufflé attracted the entire region.

In the 50’s, with a third floor and air conditioning, a first for the time, the establishment lived to the rhythm of the Parisian intellectuals: Juliette Gréco, Boris Vian, Jean-Paul Sartre. Then Brigitte Bardot, who forever anchored the reputation of the village as the summer epicenter for the international jet set. To give it a rebirth worthy of its history, in 2013 it saw expansions, clean lines and furniture created by big names in the design world. The common thread: the glorious 1960s, the Mediterranean and iconic actresses. Luxurious, chic and bold, the Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez continues to attract travelers in search of the exceptional. “What if we called Brigitte to work with us?” proposed Agnès Karp, in homage to the icon who spent her flamboyant youth in the madness of Tropezian nights. It was therefore quite natural that Agnès, in collaboration with Brigitte Bardot, brought the artistic identity of the hotel to life, through a series of very personal photos, each one captioned by the actress.
