Color and textiles have always had important roles in my work because they create impressions of light, people, and pigment.<\/p>\r\n<p>\u00a0I interpret and interact with the world around me through a well-honed visual language that incorporates all the continents, histories, and cultures I\u2019ve experienced.<\/p>\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<p><!-- \/wp:post-content --><\/p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<!-- \/wp:freeform --><ul class=\"wpuf_customs\">            <li class=\"wpuf-field-data wpuf-field-data-email_address\">\n                                    <label>E-mail:<\/label>\n                                <a href=\"mailto:artist@yopmail.com\">artist@yopmail.com<\/a>            <\/li>\n                    <li class=\"wpuf-field-data wpuf-field-data-textarea_field\">\n                                   <label>\u00c0 propos:<\/label>\n                               <p>Agathe Bouton is a French artist living and working in Philadelphia , USA whose boundary-pushing printmaking and paper works exhibit influence from living and working in international cities across the globe.  Bouton earned her BFA in Painting and Printmaking and her MFA in Arts and Textile Design from the prestigious ESSAA Duperr\u00e9 in Paris, France.  Since leaving Paris 18 years ago, Bouton has lived and exhibited her work internationally in Paris (France), London (UK), Philadelphia (USA), Rangoon (Burma\/Myanmar), Dakar (Senegal) and Istanbul (Turkey).  She has presented solo exhibitions at the Biennale de l\u2019Art Africain Contemporain in Dakar, Senegal; Rathaus House in Waldbrol, Germany; Centre d\u2019Arts Plastiques Albert Chanot in Clamart, France; Galerie Od\u2019A in Istanbul, Turkey; River Gallery in Yangon, Burma\/Myanmar; the Bettie Morton Gallery in London, UK and the Stanek Gallery in Philadelphia.  Bouton has received numerous awards in France and the United States for her accomplished printmaking including the Pierre Laurent First Prize in 2007 in Albi, France; being named a finalist in the Prix GRAV\u2019X in 1999, 2003, 2004, and 2005 in Paris; and being selected as a semifinalist in the 91st 92nd Annual International Competitions of The Print Center in Philadelphia.  Since moving to the U.S., she has exhibited extensively in Philadelphia and New York. Additionally, Bouton\u2019s work is in the collections of French institutions including: the Biblioth\u00e8que Nationale, Cabinet des Estampes; L\u2019Inventaire, Artoth\u00e8que du Nord Pas de Calais; and the Mus\u00e9e Fran\u00e7ais de la carte \u00e0 jouer; as well as American public collections, for example: the Print and Pictures Collection at the Free Library of Philadelphia and the
