The artist, whose grandfathers were one a cabinetmaker, the other a lover of wild nature, and a grandmother an antique dealer, spent his childhood immersed in this atmosphere, where the smells of the undergrowth, the waves, the snowy expanses mingled with the scent of wax and varnish. The hands that work the wood, left an imprint that followed him all his life. The choice of wood was obvious: Noble, Living, Fragrant. Having learned the gesture from one of his cabinetmaker friends, his sculptures became larger and larger as experience grew. His work seeks to bear witness to the beauty of nature, and a deep respect for the perfection of what has been given to us, and that we must pass on, intact.
