A renowned tattoo artist, versatile creative and ceramicist, Po'oino works with a specific stoneware from Saint-Amand.

A tattooist for over twenty years, Po'oino Yrondi grew up in Polynesia, on the Marquesas Islands and in Moorea. He first received tattoos before tattooing others himself, to affirm the cultural identity of those islands. He then settled in Hawaii, where his growing reputation led him to tattoo actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, establishing him as one of the leading figures of Polynesian tattooing. In the 2000s, on the advice of his father Garrick Yrondi — himself a ceramicist and painter — Po'oino also turned to ceramics. He trained at the CNIFOP in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, Burgundy, with the idea from the outset of adorning his pieces with the Polynesian motifs that inhabit his tattoos. In 2014 he settled in Saint-Amand to open a tattoo studio and his own ceramics workshop. A plural artist proud of his mixed heritage, Po'oino Yrondi continues to explore his roots through expressive and singular creations.
